Are atheist ego maniacs?

Why do the "How did did came to be?" have to be associated with an otherwordly being of some sort, as dictated via a book, without researching on the otherwordly being of some sort formed the "How did this came to be?". Why can't the "How did this came to be?" be research to see how it came to be?
